Finding a Wordpress plugin that can do this is crucial to the success of my website (in my opinion).

Goal:
I want the embed tag for a video to be automatically generated when I create a post. Exactly the same as youtube except that its going to link to my website (which isn't hosting the video, but just hosting the embeded youtube video). I understand that if they click the video it will still take them to youtube.

Purpose:
This way I can advertise on forums. ie: under the video I've posted it will say " xyz.net" and maybe some other custom message.



I could create the code by hand, but it'd mean I'd have to make sure everything was lined up correctly each time...I dunno, just seems like it'd be a huge hassle.

Anyways, I've looked at the plugins codex.wordpress has for video embedding and tried all of them but unfortunately all they do is just provide a new interface to post your videos into. I think most of these plugins were created before it was so easy to just copy and paste the embed code into the advanced posting section.

I've done lots of other searches and just can't come up with the correct plugin.

Any ideas are appreciated.

In my last post however, I think I failed to mention why I wanted to have a YouTube-esque embed display next to the video.

Well, its so I can post these videos on web forums and not get flamed (or banned) for adding a link to my website. It will look as if I dont own the website, but just copied the code that was supplied to me by the website.

Did you try asking on the Wordpress official forum where people make and submit plugins

I can see this being a pretty killer plugin. I would indeed check with the WP community and see if someone can whip something up.

You don't need a plugin to do this, dude. Just do what I do and keep some prewritten code handy in a Notepad file for this purpose.

Just replace the wf2hYRmcAPc parameter and you're good to go...unless you want the Dog the Bounty Hunter opening theme.
