I reckon reviewing products is the best way to make money, just adding a simple buy this product text link within the post should be sufficient. people are becoming more aware and are less likely to click a flashin' banner.

I don't think a blog should have more then 1 - 2 ads, if any at all. Personally, I try to get "post sponsors" for each entry that I write into my blog in order to get some sort of revenue from it.

I'm fairly new to this, but I definitely agree that the flashing banners are more likely to annoy your readers than make them click through. Having said that, what do you think of having just a couple text ads?
Lots of Adsense ads are OK if you have good content. A click here and there means more moeny for you.

I have added adsense to my blog... One at the top of my main page and then a second one under the comments once you are on the story page. In my opinion it really doesn't hurt to advertise IF you keep the adds relavent and blended in well.
I havent got a blog at the moment but if did have one it would have very few ads on. I would have some on the comments page and on the side under the blogroll but that would be it.
I've never had a blog, but gosh I seem to be hearing about them all the time now. I understand basically what they are, but as for making money is concerned are they really all that profitable if done well?:detective:
For best blogging sites? Any success with Blogspot? I'm at mykidsinheritancecomshomebusinessblog.
Just testing putting affiliate links on blogs that aren't diretly listed on my affiliate site....
I'd come down on the less ads, attractive design side, given the choice. I also am a fan of text ads for a blog rather than graphical ads as I believe that the main draw of each page is the content on the page, not the ads. :-)

You realize that you don't have control over the ads that appear on your site when you're using AdSense, right?
I think you might be making too broad of a statement here. It's not that you don't have control, you don't have "complete" control. It is possible to exclude certain adertisers, limit to only text ads, and change the appearance of the text ads to some degree. Having said that, I think I understand where you're coming from. If you contract directly with an advertiser, you have total control over what appears on your site which may be a necessity for some people.
