But, before I implement one of the themes I know best are there themes you might recommend that lend themselves for Adsense integration.

You can successfully integrate Adsense in virtually any theme if you know how to work the templates. A great source of info is codex.wordpress.org

you can grab a ton of free schemes at themes.wordpress.net/

If you want to advertise, then go for two column themes which are light colored.

Check Visually Appealing WordPress Themes that I posted in my blog, some times back. But keep it simple. CTR will be (comparatively) high for simple and light colored themes.

try 3 column themes with less number of images to make ad blending easier.
