Are blogs on the hot stuff really worth it? For example, celebrity blogs, news blogs, etc?

Mine's similar to "celebrities" and it's really profitable However... you must make it unique as there are SOOOOOoooo many out there right now. And 3-4 take a bit portion of the cake.

They aren't as profitable as something that is product related though.

Well, with the level of your income, I thought you are the one who should give advices.

My take is that it depends on your business model. If you are going with AdSense then figure out on average the trend and keyword bid prices. If you are driving traffic from search engines then do your keyword research about how many people are searching for that particular celebrity every month, etc.

Celebrity blogs are highly priced when it comes to text link ads.

You need to research on your very specific topic before you jump in.

In addition to researching your topic, I'd suggest that you also do some basic keyword value research too. Use the Overture tools to see what keywords are associated with a given name, then plug 'em in to the ad bidding tool to see how much they're REALLY worth.
