Erm... I only have 3 letters for you: "FTP". Ok, add "Client" too but it's irrelevent ;p

Seriously, any good FTP client will let you transfer all the files in one drag and drop move.

I don't have the exact address, but you can try FileZilla, it's a good free one.

^ yeah, what he said. If you are talking about images, wordpress has a built in image uploader, but even then I would still recommend using an FTP client Much faster and easier.

Thanks guys... I will keep that in mind for my next wordpress blog. The one I just "finished" is linked to a website(my 1st site) that I did for a charity cycle tour that I'll be doing next year. Check it out operationtheatre.org

Will wordpress blogging software and php forum software likely install on a Microsoft server that uses asp programming? The server doesn't seem to have c-panel or fantastico.

Is there a general answer to this or do I need to contact the server adminstrater?

Thanks for any help.

Even with Fantastico, the FTP will come in handy to add plug ins and a WP theme of your choice.

It might be common knowledge to others, but I spent a lot of time trying to get the theme of choice on my blog. The breakthrough came when I went to the "www" folder (instead of wp-content), found the subdomain, clicked on it, found my sub-domain, then wp-content and found themes. Smooth sailing after that.

The hosting package that i'm signed up for doesn't offer fantastico as an option so I've been use c-panel and FTP (smartftp client). The ftp client works very well... haven't really had a problem... I'm also now playing around with setting up a drupal site... drupal seems pretty good. Just the available themes seem limited. Anyone know where I can find some good themes?...
