I'm looking to start my first blog in a few weeks and was looking for some feedback from some of the veterans here.

I have my own domain name and intend on using Wordpress (the preferred platform it seems), which mentions several recommended hosting solutions on their website. What I'm wondering is if any of these hosting recommendations will suffice or are there better solutions that any of you guys might recommend?

Just to give you all a little idea about my blog, it'll target various men's issues about improving every aspect of their lives. I fully intend to monetize the site through various methods after I get some quality content up and running.

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Linux hosting on godaddy, or get it cheaper on 1and1 if you don't think you'll need as much support.

Never had problem with 1and1.

Ok, maybe one time I had to contact the support, and I had an answer relatively fast.

Maybe 1 downtime in the last year that I can recall.

Wordpress isn't a heavy duty software that you will need to pay more than $10/month to host it. I've used dreamhost before which was just fine.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I've settled on bluehost.com for now and hope to go live in a few weeks!

I use total choice who has it as a loadable feature of having them host for you. My current costs is 4 bucks a month.

I use 1and1, and I haven't had any trouble with downtime. But I can't stand their admin panel.
