Hi,
I've recently saved some money and am interested in purchasing some assets that will generate a continual income, and perhaps also grow in the capital gains sense. Websites are obviously a great place to start, but I really don't want to be too "hands on" with the actual nitty gritty.
FYI, I'm a web developer myself and have been doing it for over 10 years. However, I now feel that my time could be better spent by organising other people to do the work for me and paying them, leaving me to find better business opportunities!
Ideally, I would like to purchase a niche website with steady traffic, but perhaps poorly monetized - i.e. it's undervalued by those selling it. Easier said than done I'm sure you'll say! However, this bit I can sort out.
Once I have the site I want to add a blog, forum, article database and a marketplace for both any products that I create or as a place for people to sell their own.
My question(s) consist of:
1. Is it worth me paying somebody to write the blog, forum posts and articles? I mean, is the advertising generated by the site likely to more than compensate for their salary/fee/one off payment?
2. Should I buy in a load of PLR articles? If so, does anybody have a list (with prices) of good providers of this content or a person willing to carry out these services?
4. Is it good value to pay for link directory submission? If so, who are the reputable providers?
5. Is it common to hire people to send out link exchange emails?
I'm sure you get the idea that I get pretty bored with the grunt work and would gladly pay someone to do it for me...but only if I know that I'm likely to get a good return on the investment!
I realise I've been a bit vague, but I'm hoping to stimulate some discussion...perhaps you guys could share your thoughts?
Thanks a bunch, your advice means a lot!
Mike.
