RSS feeds are awesome. They keep you updated in real time on all your favorite blogs and even your competitors. I currently subscribe to 13 different RSS feeds using Thunderbird to keep me updated (Thunderbird is always opened and in my tray). I wish every site I went to had an rss feed.

So how many do you subscribe to and how do you keep track of them?

I subscribe to ~60 seo blog feeds, 17 craigslist feeds, 2 clicky feeds, 6 analytics blog feeds, 2 google blogsearch feeds related to seo, 6 digg user digg and comment feeds (mattcutts, dannysullivan, etc....), 5 forum feeds like cmswatch and affearners, 3 news sites, 4 domaining forums, techmeme, . Do I read all of them? No, I mostly skim them.

Did you know that when you use the google blogsearch feeds you can output use the num=100 parameter to get more complete coverage?
Like this,
Code:
http://blogsearch.google.com/blogsearch_feeds?output=atom&tab=wb&scoring=d&q=%22real+time+analytics%22+OR+%22web+analytics%22+OR+%22google+analytics%22&num=100

I make Thunderbird load the whole page so I can just read it all there and then go to the page if I want to comment.

I got 303 RSS feeds in my reader, in 21 folders. The feeds from 2-3 folders I read no matter what, the rest I check the titles and maybe the first few words to see if I'm interested. I don't like to read the articles in the feed reader though. I usually go to the website if the article seems interesting.

Well, I work as a freelance IT and new media journalist, so feeds are a great for me to get the latest scoop on potential stories. For example I have a special folder just for corporate blogs, as well as industry expert blogs. For example, I have Lee's blog in the industry expert blogs folders so if he "rants" something that inspires me to write a story - the better.

RSS feeds don’t have one.

“Heard of yes”

What I need is someone to point me in the right direction where I can get good info on RSS feeds.

A lot. I'll usually have 200-300 new items every morning if i don't check back with my feed reader a few times throughout the day.

I subscribe to too many RSS feeds. It's difficult to keep up with all of them, but I try when I can.

My RSS reader of choice is Sage, an extension for Firefox.
Sage: a feed reader for Firefox

About 180. It varies, though. I try not to exceed 200.

Google Reader rocks! I like it for the simplicity & good design I'm a happy Opera Browser user, and first subcribed and read feeds right in there, but it wasn't as beutiful as GR is
I'm subscribed to around 40 feeds.
I thing RSS is really a great invention of the XXIst century. The best way to keep up with the recent news. And really simple, really
