I'm not sure what is good or bad but I have a blog with 70% bounce rate. Is this average for a blog?

My bounce rate is ~46%. Try posting more links to your other articles, both in the body of a story and in the sidebar, to keep people around.

I have an average of 60% bounce rate for my blog. ( I get this number from Google Analytic)

That's mean 6 out of 10 visitors will leave my blog without clicking anything. Don't know whether this is considered high or low?

I always hear of sites having higher bouncerates rather than low ones.

I think it's fairly difficult to get it below 50 percent, because not all of your visitors will be perfectly targeted.

The main blog I'm working on now has a bounce rate of 33%. I have a hard time correlating that with the pages it says are viewed though.

Bounce rate is about 60%. My site is fairly generic and invites many types of visitors, so it is difficult to get a better rate. In fact, I am pretty happy with 60% right now, until I find a good niche.

The higher bounce rate, the worse

People leaving without seeing another page.

I got about 65% of bounce rate. My blog is rather new. Some visitors of my site are directed by search engine like Google. Perhaps they find like the content is not what they are actually looking for so they leave quickly. To have low bounce rate, i think that you should have a number of loyal visitors.

I see it like this, if I have a 90% bounce rate but everyone is leaving through clicking adsense, I am cool with that, I make money. But if I have a 90& bounce rate and nobody is clicking any ads well stuff that.

I would personally prefer a 90% bounce rate where everywhere is leaving through ads than a 10% bounce rate, more money for me

It depends upon the objectives of the site. If the objective is to build up long-term value, then a lower bounce rate indicates more interest in the site itself.

It is true that visitors are more likely to click on adsense ads if they have less interest in the site, thus higher bounce rates and more adsense clicks.

My bounce rate is slowly coming down, but thats probably coz the site is just starting off. Slow and steady. I agree though that it all depends on whether or not people leave because they are clicking on ads or because theyr'e just...leaving?

I would not prefer this. If people are visiting your site and then leaving straight away then there chances of them being a returning visitor is slim. I prefer people that actually visit many pages of my site and then click on an ad before they leave rather than having a high bounce rate.

I think someone said the average bounce rate is around 50% - 55%.

The bounce rate of a site depends on it's niche, it's quality of traffic and also the design and content of the site.
