Anybody have any tips to increase blog rss subscriptions? Thought we could brainstorm.

Have you tried submitted them to some of the RSS feed sites and also have it clearly shown on your site that you offer these feeds.

Maybe it's stupid, but try to add a line like
Subscribe to my Feed here! (where "here" is a link to your feed.)
at the end of every post.
I did that on my blog and looks like it works. But I don't have more than 30 subscriber though.

just get traffic and give people great content....that way their thought process will be ...wow this is some great stuff I will have to come back here

then subscribers will be biting at the bit to come back and see what else you can offer.

It takes some simple steps to subscribe a feed. So I think people will only do this if they like your content and want to check back your site/blog in future. So I only concentrate on content to increase the RSS subscribers.

Offer up different ways for your users to get the RSS feed -- email updates, for example. Both Feedburner and Feedblitz offer this.

I've gotten good feedback from users who aren't RSS savvy about the feedburner updates I send out.

Oh, good idea with the emails.

Link bait them by offering a free ebook of sorts. Worked for me.
