Lets say you just set up a blog, it is a good idea to start monetizing it?

How would you feel about a new blog that began putting ads up? I don't myself but like to hear what you think :dots: :clap: <= Wow these emoticons are awesome.

no, i think we should write some post and get some traffic first. Then we can monetize it. But sometimes i am not patient enough to wait, that's why my traffic is not big.

It's probably more important to have a strategy in place.

If your blog is focused on a hot topic, you really don't need much content.

Let's say Britney Spears performing at the VMAs.
If you had a couple of pics or videos, you'd be able to push ringtone offers or CPA offers already and prob generate $20-50 per day if you know what you're doing.

If you're building a long-term branding blog, then I'd suggest getting at least 3-5 quality posts out before you start monetizing it aggressively.

I don't care if my site is small, big, or huge. I'll still try my best to monetize it.

I agree I think it's all about trying and seeing what sort of results you get.

Many people is internet savvy and the don't care about your ads. They will
never click them unless something catch their eyes. If your content is good
enough then you will get more traffic regardless the ads. Now the question is
how you place your ads so they don't leave because it is to annoying.

I think how many you place, the kind you place, and where you place them will have a bigger impact on your audience than IF you place them.

i would be recommending adsense first

Content before anything else! Even before promoting your site to get traffic. Investing on ways to market a blog/website should start with your content IMO

Once you have a nice traffic base, monetizing it would be a lot easier.

if you just staring out and don't have much knowledge on monetization methods you should concentrate on creating content and getting the traffic by building the link first. while you are doing that learn about the monetization slowly. it is better to test monetization methods and evaluate things when you have enough traffic.

I'm trying to put online my own blog, and I think I will monetize it after some days, or a week (max.).
