What is really RSS Subscriptions? And how do I get them? I have already submitted my wp-atom.php to those blogs directories. Is there anything I missed out?

RSS subscribers are people who subscribe to your site through RSS. If you want people to subscribe you need to offer them content they want to read.

It's the same way some people subscribe to get a magazine delivered every month or subscribe to have the newspaper delivered to them. RSS is the mechanism by which people subscribe. Your site is RSS enabled so you've provided the mechanism. Now create the content.

You don't get subscribers by submitting your site to directories. You get subscribers by having content worth subscribing to.

RSS is a really useful tool if you have a blog or any other service that is frequently updated and people would want to keep track of new content on. I think one of the best explanations of RSS that I've found is RSS in Plain English, a video that describes the concepts behind RSS and why it's great for you and your readers.
