I wanted to put a tag cloud on my WP blog, but am a little confused. There are different places to enter tags, including on the post page. Does a tag cloud work by itself to pull words out of a post depending on usage, or does it work using the tags that I enter for a post? I tried putting on on my page after making just one post, first without entering tags, then after entering tags, but the Tag area remained empty.

Can anyone help?

You have to add the tags on the post. I'm not sure why you didn't see tags in the tag cloud after entering them. Maybe you needed to add more than the one tag or maybe something wasn't configured in the widget.

You do need to add the tags though.

(after trying) It works now, and I realize what I did wrong. It is very easy to make changes and forget to save them!

I do that all the time myself. Glad it's working now.

That what i want to put also in my blog. I've try to use tag cloud generators, but it didn't work.

Use the tag cloud widget supplied by WP, and on each post, enter relevant tags for that post. That's what I did.
