I have come across a lot of blogs that have the 125x125 ad space. I dont what companies it is but what is that all about? I have that on my blog but I dont use the space for ads. It looks really neat and I would like to add it to my blog as well as long as its beneficial. Can someone explain how bloggers use that space? I know all about adsense though.

If you use WordPress there are a couple of plugins to help display ads, but many blogs probably just added them manually to their site.

There's no specific reason for the 125x125 size, but they do fit nicely into a blogs sidebar, which is likely one reason why they've become so popular.

Getting others to display ads is up to you. One thing you can do is find affiliate programs to join and display their ads. You'll only get paid if someone clicks through and then buys. If your blog gets enough traffic you could try selling ads directly to other companies. You can create a page on your site with prices and showing statistics to potential advertisers along with a way to contact you. You can also try approaching businesses you think would be good advertisers for your site. But remember you need to be able to offer enough traffic to make it worthwhile to an advertiser.

Very good information. Thanks. I guess I have to work on traffic which is the hardest thing for me right now since my blog is about making money online. This is a very hard niche to get good traffic from.

There's a lot of traffic for the niche, but there's also a lot of competition. At least you know people are interested.

What you might want to do is focus your seo on deeper keywords, the phrases in the long tail. There won't be as much traffic in each of those phrases, but there will be less competition for each and if you can have content ranking for enough of them it'll start to add up.

As you attract more links into the site you should start to rank better for the more general keywords.

Besides getting traffic you should decide on what you want to advertise on your blog.
A good starting point is a network, like Commission Junction.
They have a large amount of merchants with different products.
There you can get those 125x125 banners to put on your blog.
