I want to start a blog and I know that I must write about what I'm passionate about to stay interested. But I love to do a lot of things. Here's some of the things I'm considering writing about.

Computers
New Technology
College
Life Decisions
Money Investing

Music is my all time passion, but I'm not sure if I can attract enough visitors to keep me interested in writing. Any ideas?

Music is actually a great topic to blog about... just about everyone is interested in music in one way or another. What about music interested you? Listening? Writing? Singing? Playing? The more specific your blog is, the better chance you have at finding active readers. If your blog is too general, people may feel that they will only find limited information that is related to what they are interested in.

That list you give of things your interested in is way to generic. What do you know the most about? Maybe you don't have to know about it.. maybe write a learning blog where you share information as you learn it... just dont pretend to be an expert. What specifically in each of those categories are you interested in? For example, if you are interested in Money Investing ... what kind of investments interest you? CDs, Stocks, Real estate, or ??

I enjoy listening to all types of music actually. Mainly Rap & Hip Hop. I was raised to be very diverse, especially towards music but if I were to pick between any genre, it would be rap and hip hop. I plan on investing in stocks and mutual funds at the beginning of 2009.

I write, listen, and review music on a daily basis (just not in a blog yet).

Music is a very popular topic; plus with the constant news, yearly awards and releases of new albums you'll always have something to write about. You should stick with a specific genre when doing the blog. If you do more than one just create multiple blogs on different domain names.

Music is a good choice; you can choose computer as alternative. There are also lots of things to discuss about the computer. You can have computer review of different computer models and brands.

first try to find out why you want to start a blog. is it because you like a topic and want to write about it? or is it because you want to market your blog, get some visitors, and possibly make some money too? if it is both, then write on a topic which wil attract high paying ads. music in my opinion is a low paying niche. technology and investing on the other hand are high paying niche.
