what im trying to do is to go from one button click on a blog post and have it go to tinyurl and get a the "newurl" and then post somthing like "Currently Reading BLAH BLAH BLAH @ "newurl""

can someone help me or point me in the correct direction in helping me achieve this

Yes, twitter always use some url shorten services as tinyURL to post you long link.

no thats not what i need thank you for the suggestion

what im looking to do is to have a Icon with a link that you press and it will post to twitter saying " currently reading 'title name' @ tinyurl.com/whatever"

but i cant find a way to pass the url to tinyurl before going to twitter

Try that, I use that on Firefox and it is exactly what you are asking for.

i believe the OP is looking for a plugin that allows user on his site to post the link to whatever they are reading on twitter. The same kind of plugin that we see under many posts that say post to digg.. Post to delicious etc.
