For me, blogging is part of my special interest which I truly enjoy. This also helps me to improve more my writing skills through sharing my opinions or ideas for certain blog's niche. It's also part of my work in which help my site to gain additional traffic.
Blogging is a great SEO tool because it brings a lot of traffic and it helps to gain some PR for your home page and I like this because it gives opprtunity to communicate
Nobody invented "blogging" per se. The development of the Internet itself should be considered the start of "blogging", as it was the need to share information around more than just a handful of educational establishments that led to the creation the communications infrastructure.

Well, that's a good point that is easily overlooked. I read a blog entry the other week, which was a partial rant and also a humorous look at why there is no such thing as "social media" because the internet itself is social media.
Blogging for me is like a way to reach other people on the internet. Share the things that I know on the web. I enjoy doing it basically because it's my hobby and you can make money from it..
For me, blogging is a way how to show my personal view on thinks around me.
