Naturally I want to have my content indexed by Google.

When I go the blog page the url shown is similar to:

http://www.mysite.com/blog/

with links to older posts/newer posts.

When I navigate to these posts i get

http://www.mysite.com/blog/page/2/
http://www.mysite.com/blog/page/3/

and so on.

In the WordPress settings/permalink menu I've selected
"Day and name" as the customized permalink format.

In the posts themselves, the title of the post is a clickable link.
If I click on that link it goes to a page with the FULL permalink url.

http://www.mysite.com/blog/2009/02/0...ng-blog-stuff/

So why doesnt this url appear when I just browse through the posts?
Is it likely a problem with the Rewrite authorization in .htaccess?

I take it you are looking at the Archive links for your blog?

No. I'm not touching the archive links.

Blog is configured to show most recent post first, with links to older posts.

Pages and Posts are two separate beasts with WP. Be sure when you want to write a new post you go to "Admin Dashboard > Write > Write Post", as opposed to writing a page.

Also if that didn't help, a link to your actual site would be helpful for us to aid in finding a solution.
