One small tips here,

Write Compelling Headlines - It is important to spend some time writing the titles/headlines of your posts as they are always the first thing your visitors will see. If you don’t have a compelling headline, people will not read your post.

Sometimes, samll things help u a lot!

Promoting a blog is just the same as promoting a site. Engaging on the following helps promote your blog:

RSS Feeds
Blog commenting
Submit your blog to blog directories
forum posting
article submissions
classified ads
press release
online groups
social bookmarking

I agree that it is important to write good content on your blog but for some starting out, it gets old, writing a blog and feeling like no one is reading it. :-(

Onlywire is a good site to help promote your posting for you. You do have to join a group of social sites like Digg, stumpleupon and many like that, but it's worth the time if you want to start getting visitors. Some of the ones they have listed, you probably already belong to, so just add your screen name and your done with those.

Besides from making quality contents which I believe is really important not just for your serp rankings, it also attracts traffic. You could try promoting site on social networking sites.

A great headline can get people's attention. You should make enticing ones in order for tham to really be intrigued by the contents in your site.

Submitting your blog to different search engines , joining some good social bookmarking and networking sites like digg , twitter , ezdia , facebook etc. Also for me the most important is regularly updating the content of that blog

here is another tip.. don't believe people that you would need to post on your blog on the daily basis or in a scheduled sort of way, don't force content to come out of your brain.. write when you have something to say and if you don't, play poker in facebook or something..

For me submitting to different bookmarking sites , updating the content regularly , Commenting on other blogs , posting your links wherever it is possible on different sites .
