I like blogs and it’s my passion to write it on, I was wondering how a blog can help the teachers?

I think teachers can use blogs as their lessons plans. They can schedule their blogs on time intervals. They can set an amount of entries to make available on blogs per week. If they do, they can have topics before hand, they can do editing before the topics get Live. They can teach many topics to their students, students can do interaction with their comments, as we bloggers read or follows others blogs.

If you guys have any great ideas please do share, I think we can use blog as learning and teaching tools. What do you think; do a blogs can be used as a Mentoring kind of thing?

hey great to read your innovative ideas. I was using blogs only to make money. Anyways as far as my idea is concerned, i would say you can use blogs to share your personal experience of teaching in your post. Like a student asked .... you said.... students react...In this way student would find interesting to read your blogs and would get lessons from the post too.

Regards

Creating a blog for students is a brilliant idea. You can put tons of interactive widgets in the blog where students can participate in, plus you can also post some educational videos in it.

Teacher Blog

1. Homework Assignments. This way students, and their parents, will know exactly what homework is expected and when it is due.

2. Student Essays. The students' best efforts can be posted as a reward for writing well.

3. Class Activities. Chronicle a trip, science experiment, or other activity and share it with the world.

4. Student Managed Site. Set up and monitor a site, but give the students access to post articles. This can help maintain a team spirit as they move up through the grades.

5. Study Tips. Instead of spending high school classroom time on how to research and write a report, or any other educational building block, post it. Then you can refer students to specific posts to help them teach themselves how to complete their assignments.

Whatever you decide, be sure to monitor and respond to comments.

Tens of thousands of teachers blog and use blogs every day. It's nothing new, in fact teachers were some of the first bloggers online. Haven't you ever heard of http://edublogs.org, one of the largest blogging communities in the world?
