So, I need a blog. Haven't decided on a name, either.

There are a zillion blog websites and software products out there. I have no idea where to begin

What do you recommend?

Also, is eblogger a worthwile venture?

I suggest starting out with either Google's Blogger or WordPress. You can get a nice free site hosted on their server with a subdomain name. (ie. myblog.wordpress.com) When you decide what domain name you want, you can use redirect so visitors can just type in the domain.

Yes blogger and wordpress are good. If you have affiliate marketing ideas or any money making, linking type of views in your mind then i would recommend you blogger and if you want to make a clean blog go for wordpress. Also research on niche marketing to get the best from your blog.

Well you can use blogger.. For me I find it more easy to use than other. You can personalized your template and I find it easy to edit.

First better to start blogging with blogger.com and then i suggest to switch to wordpress!

If you're new to blogging blogspot.com is a nice free blog hosting to create your blog. Also I agree with mark1230 it would be better if you start your blog with topic which gets your interest.

If you're just a newbie in blogging, it's better to use blogger.com because it's more user-friendly. Setting up a blog is so simple and easy..

well i recommend u using blogger.com which has great features with added gadgets, u can also edit blogger templates with ur added scripts. i am using blogger.com. about ur site name u will have it like this example ursitename.blogspot.com

I suggest you to start a blog that is where you like most. I mean if you are good in cars then you can start a blog that the topic is related to cars. The reason why it's good to create a blog in which you know the topic is, you can provide a unique and good content on it and not just by copy pasted materials.
