I've submitted my blog to google, both their general search engine and blog engine. I've now stuck every relevant keyword I think of, on my main page, but I have a couple of questions:

Q1 My assumption is that the google search bots will crawl my pages, and pick up on any relevant words, so that any searches containing these words will throw up my page. Is this the case, or is it more complex that that?

Q2 Now I hesitate to ask this as it might sound like a stupid question, but the block of keywords I've included are quite pale in colour and very very small. I've done this because they're not beneficial to any human visitors and I didn't want them to distract from the rest of the blog, so my question is, will the bots still be able to pick up these keywords, even though they're pale in colour and tiny?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply, Joe. Am I correct in the assumption I make in Q1 too? Is this how search engine bots work?

Starting June 15 we are all probably going to see a lot more Google Ads containing trademarks. Watch this video to learn how these changes will effect you.

Pick your keywords carefully. You really only need to "optimize" for one or two. You have to have a focus on what you think you can rank for or your marketing efforts will be self defeating.

Think of it this way. Vanilla Ice Cream is good on it's own, a bit better with a topping or two, but load it up with every topping in the store and it's just not good.

Search Engines need to know what your page/site is about and if you overload it then they have trouble figuring that out.
