I guess you are right! But due to my curiosity and eagerness to earn traffic with my sites, I am doing several tasks just to increase my site's traffic. I guess this will not be enough.

These are only a few but there are many of them out there. You can also search these directories for blogs that are talking about the same topic as yourself. Than you can go and leave comments on these blogs. However do not spam. Leave genuine comments. You can also sign up for google alerts to find out about more blogs with your topic too.

It doesn't have to be a do-follow for it to be a good strategy to increase traffic to your blog. I personally haven't used Yahoo Answers but I think what he's trying to say is look for questions about your niche and answer properly with a link to your blog. The others will see it and may click on it. Therefore, increasing traffic to your blog. I'm not sure about the rules though if you can get banned in Yahoo Answers for posting your own blog. Oh, and if you're chosen as the best answer, your answers will get a lot of views.
