Okay, so I think Wordpresse's forums suck. And you guys are amazing!
So I was hoping you could help me with my question. I already edited the html and css of the theme I chose to be the way I want. I placed the files in the blog folder on my server "blog.creative-synthesis.com" (the site is www.creative-synthesis.com). For whatever reason the blog still finds the old, original code, but I have no idea where it is getting it from- I don't think it is possible that it is on my server! From another source I was told to place all the files into your blog file loosely so that is the way they are now- are they supposed to be in certain files instead??? Are my files supposed to be named something special? I am very confused about what is happening. Please help me.

Not quite sure what you're asking. Are wondering where all the pages and posts, etc. are stored? They're all kept in a MySQL Database which was installed with the package during installation.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking either. When you say you added the files to your blog folder do you mean inside the theme folder or literally inside the blog folder?

WordPress themes are located inside wp-content/themes/theme-names

To edit a theme you would open the folder for that theme and edit those files. You wouldn't just add new html and css files. You don't have to edit all the files in the theme folder, though you'll likely want to edit header.php, footer.php, sidebar.php, single.php, page.php, index.php, and style.css. You don't necessarily have to edit all of those either. You can change the look of a theme just by editing style.css

WordPress reads all content from the database and so your posts and pages will still be there when you change the theme.

I'm not sure if any of that answers your question. If not could you provide a little more detail about what you've done so far and what isn't working? I'll be happy to try again.

TO answer your question, yes those files have specific names that are all called by Includes.

If you change header.php it will replace header.php.

If you ADD a new file you have to change the base code that calls the various screen sections to "include" the new file. And that can be tricky for a novice.
