Both are better than Joomla.
Thank you for a voice of reason! To reiterate what's been said by a few others:

Drupal is the more customizable platform, and contains in addition to thousands of add-on modules, a developer framework for "tweaking" or developing your own custom modules. It's also more robust, has hierarchical, editable user-groups and highly customizable permissions, multi-level, multi-term taxomony, definition of custom content types with CCK, and much more that Wordpress doesn't have. It's also probably the most complex OS CMS to learn how to manage, customize, and develop in. Once you've mastered it, though, you can do virtually anything with it. Drupal would be my choice for a multi-user, multi-permission blogging site.

Joomla
could accomplish the same as Drupal with less work, but I prefer Drupal to Joomla personally.

WordPress on the other hand is designed to be an out-of-the-box, easy-to-use Blogging platform. It does blogging better than any other OS software hands down. It's pre-configured with tag clouds, category lists, etc., and really requires no customization at all to have a single-user-blog up and running. Install it and you're done. It's also the simplest of the 3 to learn in terms of customization and administration. If you're going with a single-user-blog, I'd vote WP hands down.

Note that None of the Above is suitable for a highly-trafficked website. All will require some major modification to improve performance - better to start with a development framework intended for creating highly optimized web applications if that's your goal.

I can't speak about Drupal or Joomla, but I want to correct one thing you said about WordPress. It used to be an easy to use blogging platform. Now it's an easy to use CMS. I've built plenty of sites with it that don't even include a blog and with WordPress 3.0 you can create your own custom post types, meaning you aren't limited to either pages or posts.

I'd also disagree that it can't handle a highly trafficked site. Take a look at the list of sites running WordPress. Several universities, GigaOm, CBS New York, various MTV blogs, The NY Times blog. Those are some heavily trafficked sites all running WordPress. I doubt any required the major modification you suggest. Just basic stuff and decent hosting, and a lot less work that starting with a development framework.

Why should I use Drupal and advantages of Drupal?
1) User authentication /registration individually (Add FB connect/OpenID)
2) User profiles (they can edit/update/view only their own profile and not the profile of any other users. Let’s call these users agents.
3) Client login
4) Clients can have campaigns. They can have one or more campaigns running at any given time. Campaigns have timeframe
5) When a campaign is available, the admin can send request to join to agents. Agents can choose to accept or decline campaigns.

Wordpress was always meant to be a blogging platform "par excellence".
If blogging is all you want to do I can't think of any good reason you'd
choose anything else. The community and resources for WP are vast.

These days it also makes a very respectable choice for use as a CMS.

WP has a very nice interface built in to search for new plugins, update and
deactivate plugins. Drupal is a bit more clunky in that regard.

Where Drupal excels though is in two things - user permissions management and
custom database management.

With Drupal its possible to fine tune permissions at a per role / per module level.
Don't think you can do that with WP.

Also, the Drupal CCK/Views combination is very powerful for capturing / modifying / displaying
data almost any way you want.

Wordpress is a very good option in comparison to Drupal because of its wide spread popularity and multiple plug ins. I recommend it totally

Let's say WP is the standard now for blogging. It's an easy to use platform and very versatile. I wouldn't consider anything else.

I agree to most of the users said that Drupal is not really that user friendly with steep learning curve that's make Wordpress an advantage. All depends on your needs for the website you wanted to build, if most of the content are mostly custom I highly recommend Drupal but if you wanted to build a typical or blog style website you should use Wordpress.

Thanks for sharing this information, I really didn't know about these features. This is a first time when i get the chance to know about drupal.
