Firstly, I have been to Wordpress.org in an attempt to have this question answered, but have not had a definitive answer so far...so I'm counting on you guys...

This question relates to a self hosted Wordpress site..

I've got a whole e-book of key word rich original material that I want to add to my site to help boost my search engine rankings. The problem is that I don't want anyone to be able to view these pages but I still want search engines to crawl them.


If someone should type into the search engine the specific string of text found on one of my pages, I don't want Google to display that page as a search result. But I do want Google to crawl these pages to find the keyword rich material and boost my search engine ranking position.


If I just simply set the page to 'Private', does Google still crawl the page and will it be listed as a search result if someone searches for that exact string of text...?

So what exactly would be the point a spamming a page into the SE index that no one is ever going to see.

Maybe you should understand ONE thing! SEs rank PAGES not sites that one page is going to have zero to very little effect on the rest of the site.

Apart from when it eventually gets you banned of course!

Second, I am confused, you want the SE's to crawl and rank the page but it not show up in the SERP's? Is that even possible?

I want to boost the serps of my home page by having these other pages linked to it. I want search engines to crawl the pages and index them so it boosts the ranking of the home page it is linked to. And I'm not sure if this is possible...this is why I ask...
