I would like to asked if you have any tips in blog promotions since I have read it is necessary to promote blog effectively for traffic ??

Creating quality of inbound links or back links helps promote your blog. Here are some of the techniques that helps:

article submission
social bookmarking and social networking
submit your blogs to blog directories
commenting on dofollow blogs
engaging on dofollow forums
press release
link wheel

Creating mini sites, as well can increase promotion as your website will easily be crawled by the search engines. Additionally, having site maps in it will make it more possible to be targeted as you already are getting into the deeplinks or contents of your website which has your potential keywords on your niche. Effectively, once people have typed in these keywords which can go along the titles of your site locations, it can appear to Google's much ranked pages. But take note that not updating the contents will also ruin it all having that large competition around so it still pays to upgrade blogs/websites as regularly as possible.

You may also think readers may have also been waiting for new posts as well and that leaves them from coming back for more.

A couple of tips:
Guest Post on blogs in your niche
Let other bloggers post on your blog
Promote other bloggers (they will most likely return the favor) use re-tweets, digg and other sources to help promote them.
Comment on lots of blogs, please leave relevant comments and you will get noticed.

Yes, Definitely you can start submitting your blog in blog directories, do link building and also social bookmarking and networking.

Social bookmarking (delicious, digg, reddit, mixx) and social networking (twitter, facebook, orkut) are good source of traffic.

you can join forums, dofollow or nofollow, it doesn't really matter. just put a link to your blog and post quality stuff

If you have a good content and you do all the promotions techniques like SEO and SEM then traffic will follow.

Social networking/bookmarking doesnt tend to work for me in generating traffic

first find your target keyword for your SEO task.

I am a big fan of classifieds, blog comments, forum sigs, directories.

Also use social networks!

Blog Promotions does not only means that you need to comment on others blogs but it should be a genuine comment and promotion does happens automatically if your blog is really liked by many users.

If people like read your blog, be sure your forum will have good traffic.

blog promotion is much effective...if you dont spam, or talking like non-sense thingy..

example:
posting in a thread which is asking about blogging matter then what you do is post a reply like ....our product [name] link...link.....blah blah blah etc...

your not just givin a good answer, but spamming just to promote your site..the outcome: you might be ban..your promotion and effort will become worthless.
