My blog is had about 40 spam comments today, I obviously didnt approave them but is there any way to stop the spam, Im using word press is there a captcha I can apply?

Chris beat me to it. I've used Akismet since the debut of my blog, and I haven't dealt with one piece of spam actually making it to the page.

i moderate comments he eh...i got alot spam comment also.

akismet does such a good job, i dont even bother checking the spams it catches.

Yes Akismet is doing a fantastic job. It catches all spams and I delete them with a single click.
No spam comment has ever landed of my page so far.

Akismet plugin can really do a great job on moderating those spam comments.I used it also. Spam comments are very restricted in my site too . They are all junks and just want to have a possible link juice.

This will really help us to protect the blogs from spammers and also allow genuine ones to interact about the topics of the blogs in a more effective way.

I have used Askimet on blog hosted on Wordpress site (it is installed as standard), but is it available as a plugin for other blog scripts?

Simply make your blog nofollow and the spam commenters will dissapear suddenly.

Wow nice to know this is out there. I presume blogspot makes your comments nofollow because I never have spam. The problem is I dont really get comments much at all LOL.

Doesn't Askimet charge a fee if you are blogging for income? I have used the wp-spamfree plugin and it seems to work pretty well.

moderate and add Askimet or other addons for spammers.
