Just a few questions about blogs. I never have taken part in one nor spent any time reading them. I started one but not sure why I need it.

Questions:

1) Do I need a blog site? if so then why?
2) why do people visit blog sites?
3)what's the purpose of having a blog site?

1) If you don't know, then you don't need one!

So how exactly does "a blog" keep the content "fresh", or were you thinking of "a fridge"?

Personally I like a blog, but you don't have to have one. There are myths that blogs rank faster but that is not true. You can update a static site as much as you like, and you won't have to deal with spam in the comments!

1) if you still haven't had any, you should create one. In their blogs people often write their thoughts and ideas.
2) Probably because they want to know something new and they want to discuss interesting things...

1) You don't need a blog.
2) People read blogs of special people, who write some high quality articles not on external magazines, but in own blogs. And there is not many of such people in the world.
3) To share your thoughts with the world. World might not care, though

1. You don't need a blog if you find it boring to write articles or stories about the topic that you know because having a blog needs to be maintain also and updated on a daily basis.

2. They visit blog sites to know about anything especially if they want to have some information regarding a topic. They also do blog visits to do blog commenting, mostly they are the SEO guys.

3. For some people, the purpose of having a blog is to earn money and others are just doing thier articles and stories as a hobby and post it to a blog.

1. It's easy to keep updated content.
2. Return visitors.
3. Build authority in your industry.

It depends on your reason for blogging. Do you like to write? Are you comfortable with sharing information with the world? It's easier for people to get online quicker with a blog than a regular website. Many people also use blogs as a relationship builder. Like they say if people like you they will buy from you. With a blog people can get to know a little bit about you.

I feel that with anything you do you should do your best at it. If you feel you won't like to blog than you probably won't enjoy doing it, and if you don't enjoy doing it than who would really want to read it?

Many people just start a blog, but they really don't finish it. They just write maybe one post and throw up some ads and that's it. If you feel that you would do the same than I would highly recommend you to just save yourself sometime and not start one.

Blogs are the main ingredients to make a link wheel. Plus, if a website has own blog, it increase the SE bots crawl rate. (because of the fresh contents made by blog)

most people create blogs for many reason - 1. bcoz they wanna share information, interest etc, 2. bcoz they want to use it for work purposes, 3. they wanna earn money, 4. just of boredom,.....and so on...but then it depends on what motivated you to create one..

Sadly though, more start them because they think it is a "secret" shortcut to amazing results from search engines.

So does that mean blogs have nothing to do with SEO? Then why is so much importance being given to blogging and blog commenting as well?

Twitter does not allow you to freely express or tweet everything that you have in mind because it has set a maximum of characters in a tweet. If I want people to read an article that I wrote, I won't be able to tweet it, instead, I can blog it and share it through Twitter.

write good content after doing a deep research only then you can get good traffic other wise use microblogging and write few character there.

I first blogged because I wanted to express myself -- not really to earn anything. If you have that kind of inclination such as I did, then I suggest you take the plunge. But if you are not really into it, don't bother. It's a time consuming effort and you are only opening yourself to criticism.

yes u can use blog site if u have the ability express your writing nicely...

it will also make u updated with the time

It's all about placing some unique content, providing external links, placing adds and banners to earn that extra income, increasing your presence on the internet. That what blogs are mostly used for.
