when it comes to corporate or business, I go for Wordpress but if its for personal blog I go for blogger, I use blogger now.

Wordpress :- you have to pay hosting charge for own domain, many easy theme are available, you need some PHP coding, if you wanna change.Mysql need for it.

Blogger :- free hosting by google for own domain, theme are available in XML and HTML. no Mysql need for blogger..

you can choose, which one is better for you.

I would suggest going with WordPress. WordPress is easy to use and pretty easy to customize. They have an active development community so you'll be able to find plenty of plugins and themes (both free and paid) to fit your needs.

Blogger is good but kind of a headache when you are trying to host it on your own domain.

I strongly feel WordPress is the ideal choice. WordPress has many different plugins and addons that will make your blog much more user friendly and easier for you to update. Best of luck!

Thats an easy choice. WordPress is by far the best choice. It is easy to install, very customizable and has thousands of amazing plugins available to enhance your blog.

I get blogger and think I can get wordpress fairly easily but in regards to teaching someone and use for a person who isn't web savy?

Which would you recommend with pros and cons?

Definitely Wordpress!!!

Both are easy to use but Wordpress is the very best when it comes to blogging platforms. It's extremely SEO friendly and there are a TON of plugins that allow you to add extra functionality to your blog.

How hard do you think it would be for me to teach someone else wordpress, I never used it, but we do need it definitely for seo stuff?

No harder than Blogger. It really depends on how well you know it and can teach it and how well the other person can learn it.

If you're looking to optimize it you'll need to download WordPress from wordpress.org and install and host it on your server. With either Blogger or WordPress.com you lack some control you'll want when it comes to optimization.

Well, for a start you should be using wordpress to be able to teach someone how to use it to know basic points you should be telling, especially if the tutorial that you are to make is for someone really new to blogging.. =)

Both of them are not hard if you just want to write anything,but if you want to have a bardian blog, i think wordpress is better.

First you can teach blogger, once your students understand the basics then you can move to wordpress

I would suggest blogger. Because, It is easy to use and it is FAST compare to wordpress. Anyone can learn about blogger very quick. Once they understand about blogging and etc, then they can move to wordpress and they can understand that... I think blogger suits for beginner.

I wd say "Wordpress"
Learn by heart and teach by brain or learn to teach..
If you have to teach someone wordpress you got to understand it first.

I think blogger is much more direct compared to wordpress. All you need to do is to register and everything is ready to go. Nothing to worry about and even hosting needs have been taken care of. Drag and drop.

@steelback - WordPress has two versions. One which you download from wordpress.org and install on your own hosting account and one where you sign up at wordpress.com that works just like Blogger. You sign up and it's free and you get widgets and a large helpful community, etc.

Just making sure everyone knows you can get the same benefits you get with Wordpress.com that you do with Blogger.

Still I think the best option is installing WordPress from wordpress.org on your own hosting account.

The ggogle blogger is by far much easier than wordpress, but it does not look half as good.
There is so much more you can do with a WP Blog
