I held a webcast last night, and I asked this question to all of my viewers "What is the goal for your visitors?" I was surprised at the answers (luckily none of them said "click my ads".

What is most important to you when traffic comes to your blog? Why are they there? What are you trying to get them to do?

I was very surprised at the number of bloggers that don't really know.... do you?

I keep asking the same question!

That doesn't surprise me, though I suspect that a lot of your respondents really want ad clicks but didn't want to say, otherwise they'd have "given their game away".

Honestly, I don't think they had a "game". They really don't know what they want out of the traffic!

I really think they do know what they want out of traffic (revenue via clicks or any other action), they just do not have a clue how to get that traffic to do what they want.

Probably because a lot of bloggers are on the make money online bandwagon. Rather than the build a business online mindset

For me, I want people to grow like I am. My blog is all about personal development and I started it just because I wanted to remember what I read, what I liked and what helped me change.

Its really just a great mechanism for people to change their lives. Its helping me and I know others can as well.

Sales conversions and repeat customers. Ecommerce is a bit different as you don't care about placement of ads, but rather the customer finding what he/she needs as easy as possible.

Content on my blogs is being written by Forex gurus. I have affiliate banner code on my blogs which promote there affiliate partners. I need my traffic to route to there affiliate partners and at the same time a list of followers to my blogs.

What's important about our blog is that we try to go out and find important and interesting information that we can share. I think when you mix in a lot of information into a coherent narrative that broadly speaks to your target audience, you not only can gain organic traffic, but help your customers focus in on some otherwise hidden info that is out there on the web. It's more about aggregating quality links and info, in other words.

I can imagine many bloggers cannot answer that, sure money is a bonus but reality is that earning an actual sustained income is a dime a dozen.....for me I would say is to provide a service and accomplish small yet achievable goals, I have a job that supports my income my site is merely a service and something that I enjoy doing.

For me it is to build a blog which generates a constant income every month primarily through ads.

It will vary from one niche to another and also is based on your skills.

It all depends on how much you want to earn. You definitely cant become a millionaire just doing ad placement on your blog.

To provide my readers with helpful and valuable content. I really would like my readers to be successful. I want success and I also want my readers to have success too.

Conversion. For them to become a loyal reader and eventually a customer in the future.

Traffic is good to advertise…more traffic means more sales means make more money, everyone knows it...I guess. Many people using their blogs to advertise something, so its connected each other.

My goal is to get as many visitors as possible and to send them to a sponsor as soon as I can. The goal is to "pre-sell" the surfer and get them as interested in joining the sponsor as possible. The bottom line is all about money.

Find a niche with a relevant and profitable product, get traffic. In that order. Most of the courses cause their own problems by selling the dream of traffic then the course FAILS to upsell a second product of how to turn the traffic into cash - which may not even work if the customer is getting traffic for a non purchasing niche.
