How can i permote my blog without using social bookmarking sites

But we managed LONG before "social media/bookmarking sites" ever appeared on the internet!

I don't even submit to social bookmarks... I would recommend just SEO. Thats how I get all my website traffic.

I think you should add updates on your blog so as to remain it active.

Commenting on others blog posts/sites with constructive opinions. I constantly comment on other blogs, ones of course which I have input in not random choices...works great for me and the blog owner has a liking towards it

comment on forums and add your blogs to it. spam emails with your blog and what it is all about.

I'm new in SEO, what I do with my blog is I comment on other blogs that has a relevant to my blog. Directory and article submission will also help you gaining backlinks.
