What are the steps in pinging my blog.

1: Start up your Windows computer.
2: Login:
3: Bring up the start menu by clicking the "Start" button with your mouse or by using the keyboard.
4: click on the "Run..." entry in the "Start menu"
5: Type "cmd" (without quotes) into the Run dialogue
6: Press the Enter or "Return" key
7: in the command prompt window type ...

ping [blog url goes here]
(obviously replace [blog url goes here] with the actual URL or your blog)

8: Press the Enter or "Return" key

And there you are, you have successfully "pinged" your blog.

I use pingoat.com to ping my blogs.
