Ok, so I have many friends with blogs. If they write a "review" on my website thru blogspot or something along those lines, does that count towards "linking"?

If they are commenting along with link which will redirect to you site then it is treated as backlink.

Because (in both cases) ONLY the search engines know what links count and what don't.

Dofollow or not won't really matter. It's for the PR juice that dofollow comes in handy.

It can cause link juice to your site. That means, it is good in link building.

Yeah you are right. Some people used to have 3 blogs for 1 site. They are maximizing their blogs for the site.

I agree. By making link wheel you can also get a lot of quality backlinks, not just ordinary backlinks.
