Do you guys self-comment your own posts under different names just to start a conversation?

I haven't done that, but I do respond to other peoples comments at times.

I get about 20 to 40 comment a day......don't have time to self comment...

I make notes of some of the comment questions and used them to build content...

well, in the first place, i have to confess that i did that))) but it did help a bit. if you post some reasonable comment even on your own blog, people will definitely want to respond. but now when i get 50 comments per day and 95 % of them are spam, i dont do that. Self commenting is a great way to bring back to life some old forums. For example, i recently took a job commenting on one adult forum by different names, and i got 50 cents for every solid comment. It starts to get pay for the owner as people started to respond. There is nothing wrong with that.

I never did that. Though I do reply to those comments posted on my blog.

Oh yeah boards are a whole different thing. You need to post under different fake names to get them started, otherwise people won't join

Then you get a lot of traffic, or people are asking questions about the topics you covered in your posts, right?

never did something like that unless, there is some comments that needs a reply

There is no point in doing things like that. But replying in comment on your blog is something you atleast have to put some time doing.

ROFLMAO Seriously? Is that even a question that should be asked? That's like taking yourself out on a date... asking yourself a question and answering it yourself.

Only when I am desperate. But that rarely happens.

Self Commenting is not good but if any visitor is commenting then you should reply it..

Self-comment? No. Never. That is a horrible practice.. The pleasure of reading genuine comments is what prompts me to blog.

So why is adding comments to your own "blog" post/article NOT "acceptable" yet adding comments to your own forum post/thread be perfectly Ok?

How can you compare self-commenting an article with a different name to going out on a date?

I haven't done that.This cannot solved the problem of your post fundamentally. You can update your post everyday to improve the popularity.

Never done this type of thing. Just posted replies.

I do not do that for I know if your blog is really that popular, people will leave a comment on your posts. If people used to comment at your blogs that means they are reading your content.

Replying on comments on your blog may do but self commenting is totally ridiculous. It is like posting a question in a forum and answering it all by your self.
