The blog roll is the list of all the external link at are located at blogs home page. Gererally is can located sidebar of the blog.

Yes you are right that this is the main reason why we need to use blogroll.

I would say a blogroll is a list of links to blogs that the blogger likes. A blogroll is usually included in the blog's sidebar. Some bloggers divide their blogrolls into categories.Blogrolls are great traffic driving tools.
