Has anyone noticed that Blogger / Blogspot seems to be against any make money opportunities that are not Adsense or Adwords? It seems they are removing blogs in bulk that have to do with making money, even some blogs that have been in existence for 4 or more years.

Where are the online money makers blogging now? Any suggestions for good free blogging sites?

Blogspot, which is Google, can do whatever they want. I do not know if they are removing blogs about making money, but if you say so, it must be true. They are probably dumping a lot more than just those I am betting.

As for Adsense/Adwords, you don't have to be a business genius to figure that one out.

Real online money makers do not use free blogging sites for a host of reasons, of which one of the reasons you just mentioned about advertising restrictions. Besides, if you are truly making money online, you should be able to afford your own hosting and blog software to write about it. You really do not even need a blog to make money online anyway.

Your observation is basically wrong. Its against business ethics.

The problem is not on blogging platform, but on the blogger itself..

Most of the ones I use have rules against certain topics-i.e. HYIP's, MLM, certain affiliate programs...

Some blogs do remain up for years because they just haven't been reported yet.

Anyway, they're free, so not much you can really do about it.

Then why did you ask the question in the first place? Was it just to get some kind of reaction out of people?

I do not quite agree with that, you might observe this trend because, older blogs that make money might be shifting to branded TLDs and setting up their own blogs to make more money, this might lead to blogger account being inactive.

this is just my opinion though!

You got my perception!

My feeling is if you are serious about making money online, you are going to have to pay for it. The old saying, "It takes money, to make money" applies here.

Outside of a couple of people, I cannot think of anybody making a go of it with a free blogging service. Especially a blog about making money online!

Think about it. If you know how to make money online, and are blogging about making money online like you are an expert, then why are you using a free blogging service? Shouldn't you have enough pocket change to fork out less than $80 or $90 a year to have your own website?

The two just do not jive.

I think the two can jive if you're talking about ways to make totally free money online, making money without spending a cent, etc. From that perspective, I think making money with free sites and using free blogs, etc. fits together.

I also agree there are advantages to having your own domain and paying for hosting. It seems easier to get a website to place in search engine rankings as opposed to a free blog.

Then you are a little delusional. Sure you can make a little bit of money, but not enough to warrant the effort.

You are limited by what type of ads are allowed, and if they will allow them at all. And some free blogs put ads on your site, but not for your gain.

This is not true. You can get a free blog from Blogspot, WordPress, etc to rank just as easily as a regular website. The platform of your blog has nothing to do with rankings.

and somehow, having blog at blogspot is more comfortable instead other plafform!! unlimiteddddddd and freeee that is the best part!

Free? Yes. Unlimited? No. You are limited to what you can do with it, and thus the OP.

Plus the blog is not entirely yours and you are at the mercy of the hoster when it comes to data. Try moving the data to another platform sometime, it is not an easy chore.

i mean...unlimited bandwidth . btw..
i always want to try movable type.
but i dont know how to start it. rent hosting? and then what next?
i have no idea at all working on instant hosting such gator etc

Start with a cheap shared hosting account. Gator, BlueHost, etc. it does not matter. Just avoid GoDaddy, their shared hosting for WordPress is becoming sluggish.

Hosting is cheap starting about $65 a year in some cases. It is good enough to start getting your feet wet.

With shared hosting you can run more than one domain on them. All that is needed is to create a folder for the domain, then point the domain at that folder. Oila! New site.

Then you can do a one-click install of WordPress into that folder. Most hosts have easy to install software ranging from blogs to forums. It's so easy, even a caveman can do it.

I don't know anything about MovableType, so can't tell you to use it or not. WordPress is the number one blogging platform right now, and I do not see it being anything less than that anytime soon. WordPress is to blogging like Google is to search.
