Are you using Wordpress?

With Wordpress, Pages are meant for more static, or "non-dated" type of content like about or contact information. Pages are not added to your RSS feed by default. This is like a benefit because your followers of your RSS feed will not want to get information from things such as a "terms and usage" information or a new "contact" page for example. Your followers want (quality) blog post content that is updated on a regular basis.

It doesn't matter if you have 1 or 1000.

You can get inbound links for any page, or post for that matter. It depends on whether they are linkworthy or not. It is just that simple.

Technically posts are pages too. The difference being that posts get syndicated via an RSS feed. Posts are good for spreading news, journaling daily events, or other time sensitive content.

Some blogs will publish a lot of things as a post, when oft times they may be better served as being a static page. But this is the option of the blog owner, and what their preference is.

Either way, as long as your site is well structured and visitors can find the information in a quick manner, it really doesn't matter in the long run. Most people cannot tell the difference between a post or a page.

Blog pages are for about, contact and other reasons and posts are for articles you write daily.
