Hi guys, i have question..
Let’s say example, I have blog with domain a.com and then I want to move it to domain b.com

Do I need to delete articles in domain a.com first and then move the articles to b.com?

Should I leave domain a.com still in my Google webmaster tools? Or just deleted it?

i already read the guide and still confusing me. can anyone pls explain it with the details and example maybe? thank you so much

If you want to do that, sure. Just put the redirect in place first.

Remove it once the redirect has taken full effect and no requests are being made to it.

A real 301 redirect, one that redirects real users and search engines alike.

Check your site logs, see if any requests are being made to the 'old' URIs.

That would more than likely depend on what control panel your hosting has or what access logging system your hosting provides.

you need to delete all the contents from your former domain, so that you will not be accused of having a duplicate content.

No you don't!

One the permanent redirect is in place the existing content effectively ceases to exist.

With Google's new rules regarding duplicate content, it would be a good idea, but you could always spin the articles on both sites so that they are talking about the same subject but unique

"spinning" articles does NOT make them unique, and the latest Google update is targeted AT website (and operators) that do use "article spinning" to pretend their content is somehow different.

By suggesting that people use such "tools" to fake their content you are demonstrating precisely why Google has taken steps to eliminate "poor quality content pages" because "poor auality content" describes EXACTLY what "spun content" is.
