I'm thinking of adding a "latest news" section to our site.

The problem that I have though is that the site we use is a templated site and I am limited on some things that I can do. I can change title and meta tags and I can add any html or content to any page.

However, if I add a blog, the style is totally different than my site and it is listed as a subdomain of our site.

So, is it best for me to set up a wordpress blog and then iframe it into my site?

Or, perhaps I could do a blog and scrape the content and put it on my real estate site?

Or, I could simply write a page with each month's news items...but then it won't be optimized as well as if I do a page for each news item as in a blog.

Any ideas?

I don't recommend you to iframe the blog into your site.. this will mean 0 for seo

If you're not going to be able to make your blog sit seamlessly into your existing site, like here, then why not just make a fresh wordpress install on a sub-domain (like http://blog.yoursite.com) and give it a different look, maybe with just the logo maintaining some kind of continuity with your site? This has worked well for me in the past.

I also was thinking about placing a blog on my site but like you I use a template and so was unsure of whether this was the best way to go about things. I started a blog up through wordpress and have links to my website and twitter accounts on my blog, and links to my blog on my website. My blogs have seen much more traffic than my website and quite recently the blogs have been encouraging people to visit my website. I think wordpress is one of the best ideas!

Why not?

A page is a page is a page! the delivery method has no bearing on "how well" it can be optimised.
