Hi, do you use software to make a blog? In my case I really don’t use a software in setting up a blog, however I am curious on how it is done by using a software and how much will it cost us in buying one, or is there a free software here online(just a wishful thinking)?

Actually when you buy hosting many providers have several scripts for blogging included into autoinstaller. You are able to choose one for your taste

Most of the times, those scripts in auto installers such as Fantastico are old outdated versions.

As I understand, the WP (or what is used) is able to be updated automatically, what is indicated as soon as the engine is installed. Is there any trouble with update?

It's better than to just download the already most up to date version via website then, instead of installing an outdated version than upgrading which doesn't work at all depending on the web host in question.

Saves time to just install the up to date than to install and upgrade.

It does vary by host of course, we do keep the script versions on our servers up to date and will often do "push" upgrades for critical patches or updates, only wish some clients were as conscientious with their AV software and OS patches.

We had one today that got "zombified" in the early hours and fired off close to five thousand "Nigerian 419 messages" before we caught it at about 7:30 AM.

Smartish as well, because it was sending in batches to avoid hitting the hourly limit too quickly.

Wordpress (.org) is a piece of cake. I couldn't imagine blogging without it. The installer I use (Simple Scripts) always has the latest version of WP.

But anyway, it's pretty easy to upgrade...1 click...about 5 seconds. And it seems like WP comes out with an upgrade about every month or so. The only thing I worry about is if the plugins are going to keep up. And yes...it's free.

Wordpress can help you a lot! Of course, it needs some pro skills, you had better try to learn web building if you want to set up blog by yourself!
