Is there a way to implement a new theme ONLY on a single page within an already existing website that uses another theme?

And if so - how?

The one problem:

Our former developer created a custom theme for our wordpress site that seems to be broken....... and it's causing me serious problems because now I want to install a new theme but it basically tells me there is some PHP (I think?) error on "line 37" or something when I try to activate the new theme.

What should I do about this?

Wouldn't it be easier reinstalling wordpress? Then install the new theme..

That means your problem is on line 37 of the contents in the file location displayed to you in the error message.

It should be possible if you create a new page with an assigned template and use CSS to style the page.

But, you can only activate one theme at a time Via the admin control panel of your wordpress blog.

Install a new wordpress on a different directory name. Then create your page from there.
