I have tried to find a "true" multi-user and multi-blog open source web app, but with no luck.

I thought there would be an app that allowed users to register then automaticly receive their individual blog (in the form of www.example.net/blog/nameofblog).

All I have found are ones where individual blogs would have to be manualy created, then assigned to a user.

Projects tried:

Wordpress
Nucleus (also had a shot at MDNucleus, but dont know how to install it)
boastMachine
LifeType

Would anyone like to suggest some blog software that can accomplish some sort of automatic blog creation for a user, or something close?

I dont want to have to install multiple blog's for users as it would be madness to update them all.

You will have to make some code corrections to one of existing blogs. Your need is very uncommon so there are no well-developed blog systems with such features at the moment.

BTW LiveJournal can do this and they say they somehow distribute their source code but I don't know where exactly. Ask google.

Thanks, had a look, but it looks like they didn't make it the easiest open source software to get. It sounds like I have go along the lines of compiling the source code, so I gave up.

I think im going to find a host that can run WordPress MU (I cant program any PHP).
