I haven't been updating mine very often. I keep getting side traced trying to find something unique to go out and photograph, so I wind up thinking for days to come up with some concept to explain, a review, or whatever. I'd really like to use my blog more for announcing new work.

Anyway, I've noticed I'm not alone. Republikin's last post is from some time ago, but it's about me, and I'm a really good subject, so I can't say I blame him. But I'm curious, of all the people out there with blogs, how often do you update them, and if you have any thoughts you'd like to share...?

I've tried blogging on MySpace & Blogger already, but I didn't really like either of them. So, I've just started a new one. I haven't really had anything to write about lately, so I've just had that first post sitting there for a while.

Up until today it was once a day, recently I have been noticing the quality of my posts slipping and next week I am going to be moving back up to Cardiff to move into my new house so I will be without internet for a few weeks so I decided to cut back to once a week which means I can write a few decent posts for September and have them run through.

Once Uni starts i think the one per week thing will continue since time tends to run away.

And on really prolific days two=three posts per day. Since mine is a niche blog (plants, gardening etc) I'm not really at a loss for things to blog about. I have to stop myself from blogging *so much* sometimes. But if I try to space out my posts by the time I think I can get caught up the content may not be relevant again until next spring/summer. So I'm kinda have to blog about it as it happens.

Daily for me too. Sometimes it's hard and the last thing I want to do is post, but I still do. My goal is to find some time so I can always have a week or two of posts either finished or mostly finished.

When I started I knew I couldn't handle daily posting so I set a goal of three times a week. i think I posted Sunday Tuesday and Thursday and I made sure to keep the schedule. Maintaining that schedule helped me with discipline in writing and I think it's good to post on a schedule. If you get very popular you can stop posting for awhile and people will still come back. I don't know if that's true until you build a regular audience.

I felt that posting on the same days each week allowed me to still meet people's expectations if they had any.

When trying to come up with topics I'd suggest reading other photography blogs. You can often borrow ideas and also link to those posts as part of a way to connect with other bloggers. Maybe someone writes some tips and you think they missed a couple. Your post mentions theirs and adds your extra tips.

Another good place to get ideas is forums. I'm sure you're a member of at least one photography blog. If you see the same question asked more than once the idea is read for a blog post.

Keep a notebook or a file somewhere with ideas. Spend a some time brainstorming possible ideas and then take some of your ideas and start to flesh them out. Once you have that system working you can take out one of your fleshed out ideas and write a post more easily and quickly.

I try to update it once a week at least or 2-3 times (that would be awesome). I have a lot of work now on my other sites, but I think my blog is also important, so I'll try to dedicate more time to it.

I usually write all the articles in weekend. That way I can post at least one entry a day.

As my blog is related to a bit dry subject so i hardly get something to write in

I voted one a week, but the average is actually every 3 days.

The blog I run is a natural part of what I do and keeping o rupdating the blog helps me keep track of my ideas. I am a website developer and while surfin around on the internet I find different websites that have great design concepts and elements. I've been trying to store these ideas in my mind for ever but last month (in September) I realized that there are thousands of people like me out there that could use a bank of web site design ideas. So I started a blog.

It is easy for me to update it 2 to 4 to 6 times per day because there are just so many ideas out there.

So to get back to the post's question, I update my blog from 2 up to 6 times per day.

How Often Should You Update Your Blog?


If you want to make money in blogging once a day would be the answer.

While I try to update it daily, I don't get round to this as I'm busy at college on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and other times I haven't actually got anything to say - some people may find that hard to believe

On average, once every 2 or 3 days I'd say

It is advisable to update your blog every other day.. Add a new quality content as much as possible. Ping your blog everytime you would update your blog

I try to put somthing on every day, but i dont make it a must, usually i go thru phases of inspiration lol !

I tried running a few blogs of mine in blogspot but I was not a successful blogger. I started by blogging daily, then I got bored and I think now I blog almost once a week.

I often update it daily, but sometimes i really don't feel like writing :P
