The name DMOZ LINK DIRECTORY has nothing to do with dmoz. Your absolutely right. It is a directory. Thank You for your brilliant observation. It is a link directory. Why do people here constantly have something bad to say about everything. And yet they put they're website in quotations after they say it. It is truly amazing. No kidding its NOT THE DMOZ directory sherlock. It is a directory in which you can bid for a link starting at 1.00

If it's not related to Dmoz, why on earth name it Dmoz link directory? Unlike this rubbish link directory that it attempting to trick people into signing up, Dmoz is a highly reputable and free directory edited by volunteers. Take your fraudulent activities elsewhere please!

Hi I would like to say a few things regarding this directory,,I am a patent attorney and have been for 20 years. I deal in trademark litigation all week. There is nothing wrong with using the word DMOZ for a directory,,The person who is using this is pretty sharp. In order to take action on any trademark suit DMOZ has to charge people for a listing which it does not. Even if they did, this person is using it as a LINK-DIRECTORY They could no way challenge this person in a lawsuit. I have been watching many of you write on here for a while,,not knowing what your talking about,please if you don't know it don't say it. Whoever thought of this dmoz link directory probably thought out the process and gathered enough info to make a educated decision. To Be honest My son looks on here most of the day to get ideas on working from home. We both laugh nightly. To the gentlemen adam and whym,,Please stop your nonsense,,I can't believe you get any sales from this forum whatsoever. if you just like to talk join a chatroom. I see people here everyday that are looking for answers to their questions. You are by no means qualified at all to answer anything regarding advertisng or business. The internet are full of people like you -- fly by night--who are trying to decieve. The person who wrote and purchased this probably won't get rich,,but the idea is there. There is a example out there YOUTUBE--the trademark policy will not nor never will stand up in court. Theres been utube, youtube vids, these are people who know that YouTube's trademark policies went into effect after the fact. They can't be enforced at all. YouTube might say on their website you can't infringe on their policy ladies and gentlemen that's the worst scare tactic you can do. It has backfired. The concept is this -- most if ot everyone copy someone else's idea--if you can prosper from that -- go for it. Ideas are made to change,, If you live in Boston and there is the boston garage in town--and you wanted to open a garage names Johns Boston Garage that's a perfect idea--towns are not trademarked--99.9% of internet companies are not either. Use your head,,I hope this gentlemen reads this and good luck to him.

This is no joke ,, I am a practicing patent attorney that deals with trademark judicial law everyday. Please if you do not know what your talking about please dont't say it-my son is here with me laughing at you, noboby can be this stupid-maybe your in the wrong place to discuss home businesses or advertising. Having your business attached to whatever you say on here is probably not a good thing for you. I personally would take it off. You mean to tell me your not embarressed? You should be more ashamed of not knowing what your talking about. People who have a genuine idea are not trying to decieve. The more you write here the more I will respond. I deal with internet companies everyday. Matter of fact the last few years I have strictly dealt with people like yourself ignorant to the laws. Am I sticking up for this person ,,absolutely. Why? because he has the idea in making money legitimately. If the name gets him recognition more power to him. If and when my son does buy a business I will reccommend that he does go there to advertise because I am doing my homework now,,dmoz is a hard place to get listed--most websites fail to get listed there for 1 reason or another. Martel@ For a practicing attorney you have terrible spelling and sentance structure. And for someone who "deals with internet companies everyday" you obviously have no idea about internet marketting. DMOZ has a strict listing policy to ensure QUALITY, which is why the traffic you get from there is really good and the quality of the stuff you find on there is excellent.

Advertising on a substandard copycat is only going to bring in bad linking and low quality traffic.

DMOZ does look at quality your absolutely right. Why would this be a sub standard listing and your right my spelling is terribble. My research on DMOZ is this that they look for websites with high paying keywords,,now if that's their policy for quality I'd look elsewhere. Their quality and yours and mine probably are 2 different meanings. The reason that I see is that it's hard to get listed because of the quality of keywords you have in your site. Grant it they are a reputable company. But by forcing people away because they don't meet a certain standard does'nt give you the right to say that this is a sub standard website. Trying to get into one of the best directories and not being able to must be terribble. My tears are flowing do you see them. This is what makes others look good trust me. Sub standard is getting a d on a report card. Not comparing apples to oranges

DMOZ asks for link submissions and checks everyone for quality. Thousands of approved volunteers monitor category submissions. If the site is good enough it will get listed. It has lasted years and years and has been adopted by Google and several others as their directory service.

Again, I'm no DMOZ fan, and never really have been. But what logic is there for DMOZ to look for websites with high-paying keywords when they don't sell or market anything? In order for the keywords to pay off, there has to be something to sell...and there isn't in this case. It's a free directory.
