I'm using Dreamweaver to build a basic site for a friend. The problem I have is that the index page is made up of three frames.

A long horizontal frame at the top of the page which holds the title, a square'ish middle frame (where the body of the text and images are going to be placed) and a horizontal frame at the bottom of the page which has different links in.

However, whenever I try and name that set of frames, (so that when the index loads into a browser, the name of the site is displayed in the bar at the top of IE) it never seems to work and I always seem to get the index loading and it displays Untitled Document or Untitled instead......

What am I doing wrong??

In Dreamweaver make sure you have the whole frameset selected when you name the page. Click on the border around the whole page and you should get a box around everything in the editing window.

Thats a good idea, I hadnt thought of that. As you can tell, I'm a real newbie.

Am i right in thinking that there is an advantage in using tables rather than frames to construct pages??

Yes, there is an advantage: Frames are pretty irritating when you use a mouse-wheel as the pages donīt always scroll nicely.
Tables allow you to set out everything very nicely, with tables in tables in tables, you can get some really nice results.
