Hi, please have a look at this .fla file

I have used a tutorial to create the different units that can be dragged around the page.

how do I create another one??!!

However I seem to duplicate one of them and then change the appearance to a different unit, the one I copyed changed as well?

Cheers

I have run into this many times and you could either go to the library and duplicate them all or, you could cut paste the clip into a new document and re-name the items and re-paste.

Easy as pie:

In the current Document --> Select (or left click) the movie clip you want to duplicate. Ctrl + C when highlighted.

Then go to --> File --> New --> Flash Document. Once you have created the new Flash Document, Paste (Ctrl + V) into the New Document.

While in the new Doc, Go --> Window --> Library.

Right click and rename ALL of the properties in the Library. (preferably to something not in the original movie)

Now go back and paste into original Document.

Good Luck!

Thanks Denny, works great!

I'm actually starting the movie from scratch to try and make it look a bit more professional, so this will help enormously!

Now for my second question....

Once the movie is finished (and I don't change things round again!) i would like to have a "reset" and "print" button added.

What code would these two buttons need?

(Talkupation added!)

Thanks,

I'm not sure what you need. You want to reset the positions of the items moved?

Yep,

Basically a refresh or F5 button, so everything goes back to the start.

Highlight all frames and drag to right one frame. Add a stop action to the last frame.

Then create your button and add this code:

Code:
on (release){
  gotoAndPlay(1);
}
http://www.sydpixel.com/Zips/VAN.zip Look at VAV2.SWF

I think the print function is:

Code:
getURL("javascript:window.print();void(0);");

Thats fantasic! just what I was looking for! Much appreciated!

One last question....!

Each of the dragable units has its own price.

Is there a way that when the units are dragged anywhere onto the van background, it could add the totals up and display in the corner somewhere?

Even if you could point me to a tutorial it would be a start!

i know this is now getting a little advanced, but this is my ultimate goal for this project!

Cheers

Personally, I would probably buy some sort of script that I could customize without completely writing new code.

You will definitely need a drag and drop math script.

Thanks Denny, checked out your site by the way - Hope the family is well!

AND... I just realised I typed Falsh for the title of the thread... DOH!

Cheers for your help though, I used the movie today to plan a fitting were doing on tuesday - Much easier than drawing the units on bits of paper!
