What form of coding to you prefer to use. I'm not a big fan of coding myself, I much rather make graphics, so I usually stick to HTML and more basic CSS, or I pay someone to code for me. I never even code my own style sheets. Yes, I am pathetic. So .. what is your favorite coding?? Kind of a silly question, I'm just wondering.

Scheme was interesting, but I much prefer imperative languages like Java and C# for production work

At the moment: Python !
And still C, Java, Javascript, PHP.

And I may remember a bit of pascal, but that's so long ago.
The same goes for machine code; but that one, I don't miss not doing it anymore...

I don't even understand the question... When you say 'coding format' do you mean like an IDE, or if i like to stand in front of the mirror and flex my pecks before a religious rite of the downing of energy drinks before i sit myself down to code or just the language style, or just the language?

beta raises a good point, so I'll answer as best I can... My favourite coding format is:
  • Assembly
  • On the back of an envelope
  • In a nightclub
  • Drinking Jagermeister Red Bull
  • Ignoring all the beautiful women begging to go home with me
That's how real men code.

Managed runtime.. I have to go with c#..
for services.. c# piped through WCF
for Web applications.. ehh toss up.. pick your flavor.. actually I kinda like SharePoint, or DNN or something motly done so I dont have to reinvent the wheel. Others like PHP and Java based (JSPs/JSF etc) are okay too.. but way more complex..
For web front end.. well what I like the MOST is Silverlight.. what I USE the most is HTML/Javascript via jQuery

I have Lazarus, Delphi 7 and Turbo Delphi installed, so it's safe to say Object Pascal (I also have Delphi 2005 somewhere on DVD).
I'm also a fan of Ruby, which has all but replaced PHP as my web development language of choice.

I would have looked into using Python \ Django more, but Django seems to hate working for me.

Right now, I'm mostly using Delphi 7 as I'm building a small script editor with Scintilla (highlighting), Tidy (HTML fixing), SQLite 3 (for data storage) and some other stuff thrown in, but I'll probably go back to building my little CMS \ social site platform soon.
