Alright, I've been up practically ALL NIGHT trying to figure this out. Here's my situation:

I recently created a new static "welcome page" for my blog. I've downloaded the "wordpress post columns" plugin to get it for the most part split in half, which is how I want the homepage to look:

So I've got text on the left half (column 1) of the screen, and I want a large adsense square on the right (column 2).

I've already attempted numerous things like creating templates, creating IDs in the CSS file, DIVs in the page.php file, inserting the script directly onto the "Write Page" section, and none of them are working.

Plus, I've already looked into just about every adsense plugin out there and none of them are offering what I'm looking for. This is in a wordpress "Page", not "Post", so it limited the functionality of some plugins that I did find.

Is there any way I can achieve what I'm seeking?

Also, it would be nice to know if I could add widgets or something onto the page itself, as I'd like to divide it perhaps into a recent posts and recent comments section on my homepage, if possible.

EDIT: I was able to figure out most of it.
