Very frequently I find myself telling people to never trust user-entered data. And, here comes one of the biggest holes in the underlying internet technology (if not the biggest): http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories...MPLATE=DEFAULT
Notice in that article the following:

That's right! Even one of the core technologies enabling the web must not trust incoming data!
To all those out there who aren't aware of just how serious this should be, please read the article and put this in the forefront of your mind.
